Trower is so underrated! He didn't even make Rolling Stone's list of best rock guitarists. But he's far more influential than many who did. Fun fact: he gave lessons to a young fellow named Robert Fripp.

Very underrated indeed. And when you're first and foremost a jazz fan, people will perhaps understand that you also like Santana or Zappa, but Robin Trower? Robin who? It was a relief when long time ago I read on his website that Nels Cline is a Trower fan... That said, I still prefer his earlier work. Robin Trower live, In city dreams, Caravan to midnight and Victims of the fury being my favorites. Cheerio!

Thanks for a great article on my favorite guitar player. I was just starting to drive when Bridge of Sighs came out. If I only had a dollar for every time I played the 8-track in my car. Although I live in Oklahoma, I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Trower play six times. The first time I saw him play Johnny Winter was the opening act. What a show! I have taken both of my son's to see him. This was in the last 10 years. They were blown away. The last time I saw him play was in Tulsa. My wife & I had 2nd row seats in the middle of the stage. It was a little too loud for her, I was in audio heaven. Thanks again. 🤘😎🤘

Thanks . Bring a major Hendrix fan I naturally loved his early work because both were very blues influenced players and of course masters of the mighty Stratocaster.! definitely need to check out his latest work

I know him mostly for his work with Bryan Ferry, especially Taxi. Here is a cool interview where he discusses some of that https://procolharum.com/rt-20c-guitar.htm

Thank you. Long pause. I'm overcome with emotion because my best friend was a Robin Trower uber-fan. I'm tone-deaf, but my best friend, Vince, started telling me about Trower when he discovered him in 1973. He spoke of him regularly. I gave my friends eulogy in 2010. Vince was educated as a theoretical physicist, worked as a university computer systems manager, and enjoyed playing guitar for me while telling my about great guitarists he admired. I realized I haven't heard about Robin Trower in 15-years. This post caught my eye, memories flooded in as I read, and the tears started.

Thank you for reminding me of him. I saw him perform a few years ago at the Fillmore in San Francisco and was very impressed. I’m going to look into his more recent work based on your article. I too was familiar with his work with Bryan Ferry.

Thank You for this! A friend turned me on to 'Bridge of Sighs' when we were both in high school...many moons ago. I like his playing and voice even more as he got older. "One Go Round" was just the coolest thing when I listened to it a few minutes ago...
