They’re monstrously tech, but that almost Beefheart / Trout Mask love of dissonance feels like it’s in *view* of this wheelhouse, at least... Also, if you get a chance, check out the UK’s Down I Go if you haven’t already... They are quite a thing :-)
Sidenote: I’m going to write about my favourite industrial band, Slab! and their ‘89 album Descension, soon. Absolute life-changer... plus, it’s weirdly funky.
I got into Metal in 2013, and I have a natural affinity for DDM and dissonant black metal from being weaned on Sonic Youth, Polvo, Live Skull and the like. I likes the weird tunings.

I think they’re credited with being at the forefront of DDM.
