Thanks for this article! I had no idea Suspended Animation is already turning 20. Wow.

The first time I saw Fantomas was way back in December 1999 at the Metro in Chicago. It was mind boggling. Their first record had only been out a few months and the material was still really fresh.

I remember there were a lot of old-school thrash / Slayer fans in the crowd that were very confused. Many left early or heckled / booed the band.

Also, while I love the video you posted of the 2005 Montroux show, it's worth noting that Lombardo wasn't in the band for that show. Terry Bozzio was sitting in.

I think it's important to mention Lomardo's work in The Cremaster Cycle any time there's an opportunity.
