I found this album at a thrift store in the early 1980's, I was just starting to listen to jazz seriously and I'd never heard of it. When I listened to it I could see why no one wanted to talk about it; this wasn't the Mistah Davis of Kind of Blue or the classic quintets. But I could hear the line from Kilimanjaro, Silent Way, to Bitches Brew to this. It's brilliant and I've been listening to it for almost 40 years, about time it got more respect, it deserves it.
I was 18 when this came out but never listened to it. I was just getting into jazz, and I had listened to Bitches Brew, and didn’t like it. It wasn’t until Bill Laswell came out with his album of Miles remixes that I went back and listened to all of the electric stuff. It was all I listened to for a long time, couldn’t get enough of it.
