ONJQ+Oe from 2007 is somehow one of my most played albums of the last 20 years. Somehow I don’t expect it to be part of the new hipness trend. Did not change my thrill at finding an original Nigerian 7” EP by Segun Bucknor at the flea in September.
I checked out the BBE "Deep Modern Jazz" compilation after you wrote about it for Stereogum back in 2018 and some of the tracks have been perennial favorites ever since. I'll have to check out the rest of the compilations as well!
